Operation Sindoor was initiated as high alert in Uttar Pradesh.
Security forces have raised alert status in every border region of Rajasthan. Airports in Bikaner and Jodhpur were closed as a safety measure.
Operation Sindoor resulted in Uttar Pradesh issuing a red alert after its launch. The Director General of Police (DGP) office instructed all police teams in the state to work jointly with the Defence forces to secure key locations. UP Police continues to stay vigilant and fully prepared with necessary equipment to protect the safety of all citizens. Jai Hind!” the statement said.
In Punjab schools closure in five districts near the border: The five districts of Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Amritsar, and Gurdaspur had school closures on Wednesday.
India initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7 to attack nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation took aim at key terrorist sites including Jaish-e-Mohammad's stronghold in Bahawalpur together with Lashkar-e-Taiba's facility in Muridke. Authorities executed the terror camps missile strikes because of the Pahalgam massacre response which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.
The local administration in Ferozepur instructed all schools to close for the current day according to officials. Schools in Pathankot will remain closed for the upcoming three days. Educational institutions will temporarily close across Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Fazilka.
Both government and private schools in Rajasthan's Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer border districts have been closed according to an official statement to PTI. The official confirmed that schools are now closed while mock drill preparations reached completion.
The region remains on high alert while the closures are implemented. Rajasthan occupies a strategic position as it shares a 1,070 km border with Pakistan.
